Indictments returned against neighborhood’s meth-making suspects

A Palo Pinto County Grand Jury indicted 10 individuals Wednesday on 10 charges, including five indictments against unnamed persons.

Among the indictments named were two Mineral Wells men facing the felony charge of manufacture of a controlled substance greater than 400 grams.

Mineral Wells police officers were dispatched at 6:10 p.m. April 29 to a residence in the 400 block of N.W. 9th Street after a citizen complained about a strong chemical smell.

Officers reportedly traced the odor to a residence at 403 N.W. 9th St. where the door was open and they allegedly saw several subjects inside, according to police reports.

Police obtained consent to search the premises and detected the smell of starter fluid coming from a motor home in the residence’s front yard, officials said.

Although no one answered a knock to the vehicle’s front door, a warrant was obtained because of the odor, officials reported. Gregory Harold Quinn, 43, and Ricky Clay Jones, 39, both of Mineral Wells, reportedly exited the motor home and were detained by police officers.

A search of the motor home revealed “a liquid substance believed to be methamphetamine in excess of 400 grams,” police reported. They also reported discovering the components for a working methamphetamine lab.

Also indicted Thursday were:

• Demesion Banuelos Martinez for possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

• Fidencio Vega Campuzano for possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

• Tomas Villegas Trevino for felony driving while intoxicated.

• Shanna Dajuan Acuff for attempting to obtain or possess a controlled substance by fraud.

• Nathan Dustin Heath Siegel for possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

• Tommy Deryle Patton for driving while intoxicated – third or more offense.

• Michael Von Garrison for theft greater than $1,500 and less than $20,000 by appropriation.

• Billy Joe Garrison for theft greater than $1,500 and less than $20,000 by appropriation.
